Twist
One of the most popular forms, a twist pile carpet style offers comfort and durability, the yarn is tightly twisted creating a slightly textured surface. Suitable on stairs/landings and any room in the house. Available in plain, heathered and stripes. Fibres most generally used are wool and polypropylene or a mix. Many available as bleach cleanable.
Saxony

Twist
Another favourite carpet style, with twisted yarns and a longer pile this type of carpet feels more luxurious and soft underfoot. Popular in bedrooms and lounges, although suitable around the home it can flatten more easily. Available in plain and stripe. Fibres most generally used are wool and polypropylene or a mix. Many available as bleach cleanable.

Berber/Loop
These are hard wearing loop pile carpet style, perfect for high traffic areas including stairs, landings, halls and throughout the home. Whereas a cut pile carpet like a twist or Saxony offers more comfort, the loop pile or berber carpet offers a smoother sometimes rough feel but is ultimately more hard wearing. Available in plain, patterned and striped. Fibres most generally used are wool and polypropylene or a mix. Bleach cleanable ranges available.

A natural fibre tending to be softer to touch, are naturally hard wearing, insulating and durable. They come as a cut pile (twist or Saxony) and a loop/berber pile. Wool carpets can come as 100% wool, or as a percentage of wool and manmade fibre (polypropylene) for example 80/20 or 50/50 and quite often in different pile weight 40oz, 50oz, 60oz. Widely regarded as the most long lasting and durable fibres for carpets, which reflects in the price. Suitable throughout the home.

Man made fibres which offer high stain resistance, are easy to clean, bleach cleanable and are durable. These fibres are used in most carpet styles including twist, Saxony, loop, wool and berber carpets which adds to their stain resistance and durability.
